When a potential client contacts Shepherd’s Door a staff member or trained volunteer speak with them over the phone to assess the problem and see how Shepherd’s Door can be of assistance. After talking to the victim and evaluating their safety, they are invited to come into the office where domestic violence advocates and staff can assess the client’s situation and provide the best care and resources that will best benefit the client.
