HONORING MICHELLE AVAN, DIRECTOR, WEST DIVISION SUPERVISION EXECUTIVE GLOBAL WEALTH INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT AS SINGLE MOM’S AWARDS TRAILBLAZER OF THE YEAR!

Michelle is a Director, West Division Supervision Executive of Merrill Wealth Management. She is a trailblazer and one of the most highly respected business women across multiple local and national groups serving the larger community. 

Michelle’s career in the financial services industry spans over 20 years in various leadership roles.  In Michelle’s current role, she has primary responsibility for managing functions within the division ensuring appropriate supervisory controls are in place to adhere to Firm, as well as regulatory policies and procedures.

In 2019, Michelle was selected as one of Los Angeles’ Powerful & Influential Black Woman Leaders by Bakewell Media.  She has been recognized as one of Black Enterprise Most Powerful Women in Business, which is an exclusive listing of the highest-ranking and most influential African American female executives.  She was also featured in ESSENCE magazine as well as a speaker at ESSENCE Festival Path 2 Power.

Michelle was the recipient of a Bank of America Global Diversity & Inclusion award in recognition of inclusive leadership.  In addition, she has received numerous distinct acknowledgements to include- the Regalettes President’s award, nomination for the Los Angeles Business Journal Outstanding Woman in Business, GLAAACC Community Service Award, as well as ‘We See You’ Awards honoree.

Michelle earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Business with a concentration in Management from the University of Phoenix. 

She sits on various boards to further her mission to serve mankind.  Her dedication to build up and stay active in the community are among her top priorities.  Her passion is working with our youth to help them realize their full potential through financial acumen, higher education, determination, and drive.  Michelle’s great passion and purpose in life, plays a significant role positively impacting her family, friends, career and everyone that she encounters.
