Adopt a Family and Tree Gifting Holiday Program

Target Beneficiaries: 25 Single Mothers and Their Children in the Los Angeles area.

Single Moms Planet (SMP) is dedicated to providing support and resources to working single mothers who are striving to provide the best for their families while facing the challenges of making daily ends meet. In the spirit of the holiday season, SMP is excited to announce the “Adopt a Family” and Tree Gifting Program for 2024. This program aims to sponsor essential items for 25 single mothers and their children, including their holiday wish lists, holiday trees, and decorations.

Program Components:

• Holiday Wish List Sponsorship:
  • Each participating single mother and her children will provide a holiday wish list.
  • Donors, volunteers, and supporters of SMP will be invited to “adopt” a family by fulfilling their wish list items.
  • SMP will coordinate the collection and distribution of these gifts to ensure a joyful holiday season for the families.
• Holiday Trees and Decorations:
  • SMP will purchase holiday trees and decorations for each of the 25 sponsored families.
  • This includes the procurement of holiday ornaments, lights, and other decorations to create a festive home atmosphere.
• Wrapping Paper and Tape:
  • SMP will provide wrapping paper and tape to help families wrap and prepare their gifts for the holiday season.
• Delivery of Gifts:
  • SMP staff will organize the delivery of gifts to the sponsored families, ensuring a seamless experience.
  • Rental of U-Haul trucks and trailers will be budgeted to facilitate the safe and efficient transportation of gifts.

Program Execution:

• Family Nomination: Single mothers interested in participating will be nominated for the program by fellow community organizers and peers.
• Donor Engagement: SMP will engage donors, volunteers, and supporters through social media, email campaigns, and local community outreach, encouraging them to adopt a family and fulfill wish list items.
• Gift Collection: SMP will coordinate the collection of gifts from donors and ensure that all wish list items are accounted for.
• Tree and Decoration Setup: SMP will purchase and deliver holiday trees and decorations to the families.
• Gift Delivery: SMP staff will coordinate the delivery of gifts using rented trucks and trailers, ensuring timely delivery.
